Take Your Jihad and Shove It. It turns out that if you look at the polls and listen to what people are saying, the Osama tape (thankfully) won't be having any discernable impact on the election. Even the world's most wanted man has seen his role reduced to merely confirming the dug-in

How Deep is Your Love (Or Hate)?. Here's an interesting stat, especially if you feel (as Josh Marshall and R.W. Apple do) that this election will come down to turnout and the enthusiasm surrounding the get out the vote efforts. - 37% of those who support Kerry say this is the most impo

New Democrat 527 Video. Another not-serious look at the US Elections. At least, I think it’s not-serious. You can never tell, when OBL is on tape channelling Michael Moore, parotting parts of the Democrat Platform, and pleading to “live and let live”. A Minneapolis-based...

The Coming Apart of An Ordered World: Bloggers Notebook, Election Eve. "About the performance of journalists in 2004 it will be asked, post-election: How good a job did the press do? But Big Journalism was in a different situation in politics and the world during this campaign. The post-mortems should be about that. Also: will the press even have this job in 08?"

Did Dubya benefit from Osama bin Laden's re-appearance?. It looks like the Republican crowing over how bin Laden's speech on Friday was a 'gift' to Dubya's campaign were misplaced. At least, that's if swing-state voters inteviewed by the NY Times accurately represent the electorate. Voters in five states...
